Natural resources. Mineral resources of the North-Kazakhstan region. .
In the area it is identified and studied almost all kinds of minerals. There are 286 explored deposits. They include 34 metal, 2 non-metal, 217 building and technology materials, 33 groundwater, 6 mineral water deposits. The region's territory is part of the North Kazakhstan uranium, diamond and tin-rare-metal province. There are significant reserves of minerals that make up the balance of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the tin — 65%, zirconium — 36, 6%, uranium — 19%, titanium — 5%, tungsten — 1, 1%. We have significant prospects for expansion of mineral resources base, especially in the south-west region. There is a big number of deposits of gold, silver, technical and diamond jewelry, tin, titanium, non-ferrous, rare metals and lignite. Potential extraction value of balance reserves of the main kinds of mineral raw materials is estimated at $ 6 billion, and the total value with the expected resources — $ 10 billion, including uranium — 1, 0 billion, tin-3, 98 billion, titan — 0, 7 billion, rare soils- 0, 3 billion, tungsten — 0, 24 billion, Gold — 0, 1 billion, Diamond — 1, 0 billion, coal — 0, 8 billion, Other — 2, 7 billion. Required investments for the development and exploration of prepared and prospective resources are $ 7 billion. Most prepared for development are Grachevskoye, Kosachinskoye, Semizbayskoye uranium deposits, Obukhovskoye titanium-zirconium ores deposit, Syrymbetskoye tin deposit, North Baylyusty and Dombraly-2 gold deposits. For economic reasons the commercial development is non-existent. The development is conducted only on few deposits of building stone and sand. The deposit of salt is being explored at the lakes Kalibek and Zhaksytuz. |
